Matched to a New Owner

This Boat is no longer lonely

This Lonely Boat has now been matched to a new owner.

She is currently being stored at Wicor Marina in Portchester (Portsmouth Harbour). The marina have said to the owner that they want the boat gone by the end of July. Realistically her current owner won’t be able to fix her up in time to be able to move her. Even then he has decided that he probably won’t be able to sail her again. He’s left with the decision of either scrapping her or giving her away to someone who wants a project.

When we saw the boat it’s clear she needs alot of work. Her engine was running before Covid but has since sat unused. The owner had started refitting the electrics which now needs completing. As you can see from the pictures the first thing she needs is a really good clean, both inside and out. If you are interested please fill in the form at the bottom of the page to register your interest.

Her owner provided us with this write up about the boat:

The boat was put ashore for a mini refit inc replacement mast prior to Covid , Since then continuing ill health has meant that work is stalled and reluctantly I have to accept that in the near future my health is unlikely to improve sufficiently to complete the work.

Now the yard wants it gone by the end of July 2024.

I would prefer that it went to someone prepared to complete the work and use it, if such a person come forward I would be prepared to give them as much technical assistance as possible. Currently the only known risk item to putting the boat back in the water is a stiff seacock currently open but should not pose a problem as it is connected to the galley sink. So in theory I guess it could be launched and towed elsewhere to be worked on.
