Mirage 2700 For Sale in Chichester Harbour

The time has come to say goodbye to my Mirage 2700 ‘REALITY’ which was built for me in 1980 by Thames Marine. My old age and other issues prevent me from sailing any more so the yacht is being offered as a complete going concern.

She is currently ashore in a Chichester Harbour boatyard, having been laid up for refurbishment for a couple of years.

She is in good condition and has responded to her post-layup clean-up very well. Her 15hp diesel engine is running well and all equipment is functioning correctly. She carries a full suit of sails (see inventory) and all are in pretty good condition.

In the cabin, there has been some headlining droop where the foam backing failed, so all vinyl headlinings have been removed, cleaned and refitted with fire retardant, closed cell foam which is much safer and longer lasting than the original.

Please do study the inventory and you’ll see that the list of equipment is quite lengthy.

I’ve left the mast unstepped for the moment as a new owner may want to transport her to a new location. Mast re-stepping, antifouling, and re-launch to Chichester Harbour are included in the price.

Please Note:
REALITY is not offered with a storage space or mooring and must be removed from the boatyard upon sale completion. Moorings are available from Chichester Harbour Conservancy.

Mirage 2700s of a similar vintage are currently offered for £8000 or more. What often happens is a boat then hangs around in the market place and after a long delay (sometimes years) is sold for a considerably lower price. I would be happy to accept £4,000 for REALITY with all the inventory items included. If the boat is sold in the next few months, this releases me from future berthing and insurance charges, etc.
