Steel built Golden Hind in Port Dinorwic (North Wales)

This Golden Hind has now sold and is no longer a lonely boat.

We had been asked to share this Lonely Boat. This time a steel hull Golden Hind which is in need of saving. The boat is currently in North Wales. She is definitely a big project for someone to take on and shouldn’t be taken on lightly. If you watch Youtube channels that save big steel boats and turn them into live-aboards this could be a perfect opportunity to follow suit.

“Sadly most of the interior soft furnishings will need disposing of and the interior deep cleaning, as it is apparent she is full of mould. Not a job for the faint hearted! Jua is a 34ft Steel built Golden Hind. She is junk rigged with two masts and two sets of sails. There is a large diesel engine in her, condition unknown, was running. In her day she has sailed the UK coasts, the Mediterranean and across the Atlantic.”

“Due to circumstances she has been left sealed up and water has got in, causing the mould damage. The Hull however appears sound and as she has been stored ashore, this has limited corrosion.”
